These Reflections Are Crazy, We Can’t Stop Staring

Capybaras have quickly become the internet’s favorite animal. From hilarious memes to dedicated fan pages, capybaras really have it all. They’re kind of the it girls right now. It’s no surprise that everyone’s rushed to their local zoo to check out these animals.

This person took a picture of some capybaras swimming, accidentally capturing someone’s reflection in the glass and making them look like they’re wearing clothes. It’s kind of giving uncanny valley vibes when you see something eerily human but not quite human enough.

The Simpsons is one of the most loved cartoons of all time, with over 35 seasons since 1989. They’re also pretty famous for predicting future events, so this evil Bart reflection doesn’t shock us in the slightest.

Wouldn’t you get the biggest scare of your life if you looked down at your glass and saw that? There’s some kind of mildly threatening aura going on over here, and we’re not sure we are here for it.

Okay, we all know by now that monkeys are one of the most clever animals on our planet. They’re so eerily similar to humans, and no matter how adorable it is, it does kind of freak us out a bit.

This reflection makes it look like this monkey in the zoo is taking a selfie. Or, maybe he’s papping the zoo visitors in revenge for them constantly taking pictures of him. We’re sure if you actually gave this monkey your phone, he’d know how to use it.

These cartoon-looking glasses would make anyone jump if you caught a glimpse of them in the corner of your eye. The glasses kind of look like a weird but loveable character you’d see in some strange kids’ TV show.

It really looks like someone just put a pair of googly eyes on some glasses, but no, that’s the reflection of a lamp. If you’re feeling lonely, why not put your glasses down in some weird places and see what kind of faces you can make?

Wait… are you sure this building isn’t on fire? This reflection of a sunset got a little lost along the way and would be enough to make your neighbors call 911. We mean, are we definitely sure that isn’t a fire?

Nature does some pretty incredible things, but sometimes, they’re enough to scare the life out of us. We’d love to know how many people have actually called the fire brigade in cases just like this.

If you’re an artist of any kind, you’ll really appreciate everything about this image. It’s so creative. Coffee shops are always decorated with the craziest light installations, so it’s no wonder that a picture like this came about.

This coffee drinker noticed the insane reflections in his coffee and snapped a quick picture, and it’s stunning. We guess you could say they’re tiny bubbles of light that make hundreds of replicas of the same light.

Ray Bartkus is an insanely talented artist, with his skills spanning across various mediums. However, some of his best works are his murals. In Lithuania, he painted this mural that, when reflected on water, is flipped the right way around.

The art is suddenly transformed from something a little confusing and hard to figure out to an aquatic scene. Suddenly, we see kids rowing a boat, people swimming, and adorable aquatic creatures.

This light reflection highlights how many of us consider the toilet to be a throne. We mean, you could definitely spend all day there if your toilet looked like that. It kind of feels like you’d accidentally fall down it and end up in some parallel universe.

That’s pretty much how we all see the toilet after we get home and have had to hold it in for a little too long… It really is a holy grail. You’ve really found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, huh?

E.T. and his whole gang are back for round two – watch out! These ceiling lights reflected to make it look like UFOs were finally coming to take over. Like, guys, are we 100% sure that those aren’t UFOs? We can’t be sure.

If UFOs were to come and take over, surely they’d go somewhere a little more exciting? They would definitely never come back if they wound up somewhere very mundane. Saying that E.T. did go to a mundane town in California, so it’s totally plausible.

Cats are well known for doing the most insane things 24/7. Whether they’re jumping from crazy heights or sitting in the most awkward positions, they always make us laugh. This cat got pretty cozy next to a mirror and accidentally made a hilarious image.

Doesn’t the cat kind of look like Baby Yoda, especially with that extra ear? Hey, no matter what cats do, they’re always absolutely adorable. Even if this image is so incredibly cursed, we could never hate cats.

This is the new, trendy version of a car boot sale, everyone! Introducing the car pie sale. That’s kind of a genius business idea, right? It’s just like all the food trucks you see in warehouse car parks selling hot food to staff.

Whether it’s sweet or savory, this car has got you covered. You’ll need to grab one before the reflection disappears — it’s limited business hours. Enter the magical portal into pies while you’ve got the chance.

And they say that ghosts aren’t real? That’s unlikely. The trippiest thing about this reflection is how his head looks perfectly clear, but it’s like the rest of his body is slowly disappearing. This is so, so, so creepy.

We can all relate to the feeling of hating the commute to work. It really does feel like you’re close to death. To be fair, we’d love to see a movie about a ghost who takes that dreaded commute to work every day.

This person made the most out of the funky reflection projecting off of her sunglasses. It kind of makes her look like a creepy combination of a human and a bug–very sci-fi! It’s all about finding joy in the simplest of reflections, and this is definitely one of them.

She looks so awesome that it feels like this picture is straight out of The Matrix. Hey, maybe she needs a whole new sci-fi movie of her own. Now, that’s definitely something we’d want to watch. Someone make it happen.

Talk about the small details! Think about how many times you’ve walked past an insane reflection like this and never noticed. A water drop is transformed into a vortex-like lens, creating a tiny forest inside itself.

We can’t lie — fingerless gloves are a style of the past. However, all trends eventually make a comeback, so maybe it’s time for them to be cool again. We guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Don’t mind her, guys! She’s just looking for her earring. We suppose there are worse things you could be watching on your TV that might reflect in your neighbor’s backyard, but this one is pretty wholesome.

This reflection looks like so many different things, it’s kind of freaking us out. At first, we totally see a tiny portal into space. Like, if you jumped into it, you’d never come back. On the other hand, it kind of looks like a dragon’s or bird’s head.

Either way, we’re so curious about what a reflection like this comes to be. What is it actually reflecting off of? It seems the only explanation is that it really must be a portal into some parallel universe or alternate dimension.

We bet you never thought you’d see a planet this up close, right? When the sun hit this person’s watch, it made the perfect light reflection that perfectly replicated Saturn. Saturn is everyone’s favorite planet, right?

Saturn itself is made up of billions of ice particles and dust, but this Saturn right here is pure sunlight. It’s really fun to use reflective surfaces to see what patterns you can make, so why not try replicating Saturn with your watch?

Yes, we’ve got another parallel universe. We just can’t get enough of it. This might be one of the funniest reflections we’ve ever seen. This dude totally unlocked a secret parallel universe that only he can enter.

This reminds us of those mirrors that make it look like there are infinite versions of yourself. We can’t really figure out how this works, but we’ve got some theories. There are either two separate mirrors, or this guy is 100% a vampire.

Now, this might be a glorified version of Howl’s Moving Castle, but you can’t tell us otherwise. Here’s yet another case of reflections in coffee cups. How are they always so cool? We need to try this out ourselves.

It does look like some next-level art that a barista might do on top of your coffee. These baristas are getting more and more talented by the day. Just another case of yet another stunning light fixture in a coffee shop!

Watch out, everyone! The aliens are ready to take over… through the reflection in these pots? These spooky little faces are enough to jump-scare anyone, but they’re still kind of adorable. Have you ever checked if your pots make some funny faces?

They certainly aren’t your average sous chefs. Maybe they’re really good at making sure you don’t overcook your pasta or accidentally burn that toast you forgot about in the toaster. These creepy faces are here to help and totally not scary at all.

A lot of people are obsessed with moon phases, and who can blame them? This awesome light reflection somehow made a perfect replica of the lunar phases of the moon. Through holes in their blinds, science worked hard to light up this person’s wall.

Somehow, the positioning made a stacking effect and made everything from a waning crescent to a new moon. Surely, you’d take this as a sign to start looking into lunar phases and start paying attention to what they might mean.

No matter how cool this perfectly timed reflection is, it’s still absolutely terrifying. You’d get the fright of your life if you saw this out of your window. Are we seeing things, or is that meant to be Leonard from The Big Bang Theory?

You would totally freak out thinking that someone was stealing your car. Don’t worry — it’s just Leonard! We’d never open the curtains again after seeing something like that, that’s for sure. In fact, we’d never get into our cars again.

There’s no doubt that this is a secret portal to another dimension or a parallel universe. Because the water reflects light, it literally looks like the middle of the trampoline is invisible. We won’t be jumping on that anytime soon; who knows where you’ll end up?

Also, the angle makes it look like the trampoline is missing a leg. That’s just one more reason to stay far away. This is so trippy, we can’t decide if we love it or hate it. We guess there’s only one way to find out…

This is just like the other image, but 10 times worse. Imagine looking out of your window and seeing this — you’d be so terrified. But, no — that’s just the sunset playing some games with reflections. There’s no way you wouldn’t believe that’s not a fire.

Sunsets are so pretty, but when stuff like this happens, it ruins their beauty. Imagine if it actually was a fire and no one noticed because they thought it was another case of scheming little sunsets.

This one is for all the art installation lovers. These sticks found in a lake made some pretty cool reflections that look just like a fancy installation you’d see in an art gallery. It does make you wonder what on earth is in the water.

It also looks like a kid messed around on an Etch A Sketch, and this was the result. A future artist in the making, that’s for sure! They also kind of look like weird transparent fish poking their heads up above the surface.

Okay, nobody tell the Cookie Monster about this… he would literally explode. This is the ultimate cookie. It’s the cookie of all cookies. If we had to choose, we would for sure pick the giant cookie. Who wouldn’t?

Forget making a few small cookies; we’re all looking to make one mega cookie from this point forward. The round surface of the mixing bowl is what makes the cookie look like one perfect circle. Delicious!

This is one of the most beautiful and moving reflections in this entire list. The sun timed itself perfectly and let off this heavenly glow from the World Trade Center. New York City is full of buildings all squished together, so the tallest ones get the best light reflections.

People of NYC see this as a sign and an encouragement to always remember what happened. If you believe in people being able to send signs from the afterlife, you’ll appreciate this image the most.

Save the expensive and cold trip to see the Northern Lights. Just get this water bottle and a perfectly placed light reflection, and you’re basically there. The Northern Lights are one of nature’s most incredible wonders, but getting the chance to see them isn’t easy.

Some kind of light reflection hits a water bottle, and suddenly, you’ve got a beautiful reimagination of the Northern Lights. Because bottles are curved and often absorb more light than other surfaces, that’s how you end up with funky reflections like this one.

Someone needs to inform Gru and his minions about this asap — someone’s coming for your job, girl. This person was watching something about the moon on their TV, which then made the astronomical body look like it was creepily close.

Hey, the moon just wanted to take a little dip in the pool. Why not let it? Watch out; it may start causing some crazy waves in the pool, just like the ocean. This reflection is super cool, but it does still look like some kind of end-of-the-world vibe.

This might be one of the simplest reflections we’ve got here, but it’s still pretty cool nonetheless. The likelihood that these chairs would line up perfectly to make it look like a ghost version of yourself sitting opposite you is crazy.

Imagine if you were looking at your reflection and it started moving — no, thank you! It looks just like Pepper’s ghost illusion, which is used in theme parks to create spooky ghost-like images on stage.

This looks exactly like some incredibly daunting stuff you’d see in a freaky sci-fi film. The aliens are definitely coming, and they’re scarier than we ever thought! We knew that they existed, and this reflection is proof of that.

Considering how scary this is, we really need to start befriending aliens before they pull some terrifying stuff like this on us. We all need a little E.T. of our own to make friends with to avoid something just like this happening.

SpaceX has launched hundreds of rockets in the last 10 years, but how many times has someone captured a picture of it as cool as this? Using long exposure, you’re able to take sick pictures of movement, and if you time it right, you can get something like this.

Doesn’t it kind of look like the moon if it was really thin? The trail that rockets make leaves a bright light in the sky, kind of making it look like a rocket has also launched into the ocean at the same time.

We’re seeing plenty of alien-like reflections here, and each one is a little bit spooky. This lady accidentally caught a glimpse of herself on the bottom of her iron, and it’s so hilarious. It’s very much giving E.T.

If aliens came to Earth, we’re sure the first thing they would do is take a selfie anyway, so this kind of adds up. Aliens really do walk among us, so keep an eye out for them in the reflections in your home.

This reflection is very much giving a Twilight-esque drive-in movie setting. This person’s bathroom mirror light reflected outside into their backyard, making it look like they have their very own drive-in movie.

We can’t figure out how on earth this happens, but it seems the universe is a mystery, so we guess we may never know. As with most of the reflections we’re seeing here, this again looks like some trippy portal to another universe.

All our photography people are going to eat this one up. A slight gap in this person’s bedroom window somehow made this incredible reflection of the outside. It makes it look just like a pinhole camera, where images are reflected upside down.

We really can’t figure out how a reflection like this comes to exist, but it’s undoubtedly one of the coolest ones we’ve seen. If this were us, we’d totally trace over this reflection and keep it on our wall forever.
