MasterChef is a joy for everyone in love with cooking and food from all over the world! It’s a show for dreamers – for those who believe in their cooking skills and want to wow world-renowned judges and countless audience members with delicious, masterful plates of all sorts of food! However, a more recent season of the show in India has outraged many!
The Cheese That Outraged Fans
In an episode of the latest season of MasterChef India, contestant Aruna Vijay was allowed to use cheese instead of fish for a round, and fans were not pleased with the judge’s decision. Aruna is a strict vegetarian and part of the Jain community, a stickler for a plant-based diet, and asked to be exempted from using fish when the task called for it. Although it split opinions, most viewers were simply outraged.
MasterChef Fans Were Not Happy
Although it’s not considered bad for people to tolerate others’ beliefs, countless viewers agreed and commented that what the judges did for Aruna was not right. Many of them mentioned that there was an all-vegetarian season previously, and she could have auditioned there if she was so opposed to dealing with any non-vegetarian products. After all, if she auditioned, she should have been ready to cook anything!
Some Viewers Completely Agreed
Although many viewers were not happy with the decision of the judges and the contestant to substitute cheese for fish, some applauded the situation. Some viewers commented they were proud of Aruna for sticking to her beliefs even in a competition. They wrote that they were pleased with the judges and allowing her to use paneer, an Indian cheese.
As it turns out, people agree that there is a way to stick to what you know and still grow as a chef and a person. Others disagree with the decision for Aruna to use paneer instead of fish on MasterChef, but the point is to enjoy the show and allow people to be themselves if allowed.
